1. Source Hierarchy

When sources conflict, we prioritise in this order:

  1. Official bank Terms & Conditions β€” The controlling document for card reward rules
  2. Payment processor / network data β€” Visa, Mastercard, or processor-assigned MCCs
  3. Merchant confirmation β€” Direct from the merchant
  4. Verified bank statement submissions β€” Multiple consistent user reports with evidence
  5. Single community report β€” Displayed as "Reported" with low confidence

2. Review Frequency

  • High-traffic merchants (Shopee, Grab, FairPrice, etc.) β€” reviewed quarterly
  • Card eligibility rules β€” reviewed whenever a bank publishes new T&Cs or a card is launched/updated
  • Category pages β€” reviewed when card rules affecting that category change
  • All other merchant pages β€” reviewed on a rolling basis or when a correction is submitted

Each page displays a "Last reviewed" date that reflects when the data was last substantively checked β€” not when the page was rendered.

3. What Counts as a Substantive Update

  • A merchant's MCC changes or is confirmed by new evidence
  • A bank updates its card T&Cs (earn rate, cap, exclusion list)
  • A new card is added to the eligibility engine
  • A correction is verified and applied

Cosmetic changes (typo fixes, layout) do not update the review date.

4. Conflict of Interest

Check MCC may earn affiliate commissions when users apply for credit cards through links on this site. However:

  • Card eligibility is computed from official T&Cs, not affiliate relationships
  • A card's inclusion in our database is based on its relevance to Singapore users, not commission rates
  • "Best Card" recommendations reflect the highest eligible earn rate, not the highest-paying affiliate
  • We do not accept payment from banks or merchants to alter MCC data or card eligibility results

5. No Fabricated Data

We do not generate placeholder or random data presented as real. If we lack verified data for a merchant or category, we either:

  • Display the data we have with appropriate confidence labels
  • Label the information as "Reported" or "Community observation"
  • Exclude the page from our sitemap and search index until verified data exists

6. Content Corrections

We maintain a correction process for all data. See our corrections page for how to report an error and our methodology for how we verify reports.
